Community Human Services CHS operates various supportive housing programs at Wood Street and offers supportive services to all residents in the building.
Rents:

Paid room residents are offered a month-to-month lease or a 1-year lease.

Paid Room rent depends on monthly gross income and is between $300 and $385.

Section 8 rent is determined by Housing Authority City of Pittsburgh based on gross monthly income.

Rent is payable by money order or check made out to Wood Street Commons. Payment needed at move in.

We do not require a security deposit. There is a refundable key and access card deposit due at move in.
General:

These are single rooms equipped with a twin size bed and small dresser or desk. Twin size bedding is needed as well as pillows. Rooms have small closets.

There are 5 shared bathrooms and showers are on each floor. Residents are responsible to clean up the bathrooms after themselves and to keep their rooms cleaned. We do regular inspections.

Residents do not have access to a kitchen. Recreation room has microwaves available, and the Café offers breakfast and dinners for a small cost. Residents can have a 1.7 cubic foot refrigerator and coffee pot.

Laundry facility is Free.

There is cable in the dining/recreation room. Rooms are not wired for cable or internet.

No smoking of any sort (including vapes), No alcohol, No drugs and No weapons permitted in the building.

Visitors are permitted daily 1pm to 8pm. 2 adults allowed to sign in and must stay with resident at all times.

This is not a managed care living facility. Residents must be able to take care of themselves, clean up after themselves in all shared spaces and maintain their room.
